MedFest – A Cool Summer Festival 20min from Vale do Lobo

The Mediterranean festival (also referred as MedFest) is a really cool event that attracts loads of tourists and local Portuguese residents. It is held between the 22nd and 25th of June in Loule (which is about a 20 minute drive from Vale do Lobo). It is great opportunity to try a wide variety of different Mediterranean cuisine from countries such asSpain,Greece, Morocco,Turkey,Cyprus and more.

The event is held within the old Castle walls of Loule, which adds to they atmosphere, as it makes you feel like you have travelled back in time to some old magical vibrant Mediterranean town. Lots of people are dressed up in robes, selling bits and bobs such as clothing and jewellery from local and foreign artisans. You will find plenty of Moroccan style tents which you can creep into, sit down, drink some tea, eat some of the most mouth watering kebabs you will ever taste, and then relax and smoke a bit of shisha to top things off.

I really am looking forward to filming and taking photos at this years event. You get such a good vibe from walking down the old cobbled stone streets, passing old Portuguese style houses that have vines and bougainvillea plants embracing them, the impressively still standing castle walls which are hundreds of years old. Yep. I’m a big fan of the MedFest. For more info check out their site at: Mediterranean Festival
